The Basics
What is credit repair?+
Credit repair is the process of identifying and disputing inaccurate, incomplete, or unverifiable information on your credit reports with the three major bureaus — Experian, Equifax, and TransUnion. Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), you have the legal right to dispute any item you believe is reported incorrectly. Credit repair is the exercise of those rights.
Is credit repair legal?+
Yes, 100%. The Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) gives you the right to dispute any item on your credit report. Credit repair is simply the organized process of exercising those rights. We operate in full compliance with the Credit Repair Organizations Act (CROA).
Can you really remove negative items from my credit?+
If the item is inaccurate, unverifiable, or reported incorrectly, it can be removed. Common items that get removed include: incorrect payment history, accounts that aren't yours, outdated information, duplicate accounts, accounts with incorrect balances, and collections that can't be verified. We cannot legally remove accurate and verifiable negative information.
Can I do credit repair myself?+
Yes — you have the same legal rights we exercise on your behalf. That's exactly what our DIY Credit Repair Kit ($47) is for. It includes all the dispute letter templates, step-by-step instructions, and strategy you need to do it yourself. The benefit of our full-service option ($150/mo) is that we handle everything for you and know exactly what works.

Results & Timeline
How fast does credit repair work?+
The bureaus have 30-45 days to respond to disputes. Most clients see the first results — deletions or corrections — within 30-60 days of their first dispute round. Significant overall improvement typically happens over 3-6 months. It depends heavily on what's on your report and how many items need to be addressed.
How many points can my score go up?+
It depends on your starting point and what's on your report. Clients who start with many negative items often see 50-150+ point increases over several months. Clients closer to 650 with fewer negatives might see 20-50 points. We don't guarantee specific score outcomes — results vary based on your credit profile.
What if the bureau verifies the negative item?+
If the bureau verifies the item, it stays on the report. At that point, we can escalate the dispute with additional evidence, send a debt validation letter to the creditor, or address the item differently. Verification doesn't always mean the item is accurate — sometimes creditors don't respond in time and it gets deleted by default.

Our Services
What's included in the free credit audit?+
We review all 3 of your credit bureau reports, identify every negative item (late payments, collections, charge-offs, judgments, inquiries, etc.), analyze what's impacting your score most, and put together a personalized action plan. It's completely free with no obligation to purchase anything.
What's the difference between the full-service and DIY kit?+
Full-service ($150/mo): we handle everything — draft and send dispute letters, track responses, follow up, and report progress monthly. DIY kit ($47): you get all our templates and strategies and handle the disputes yourself. DIY kit is best if you're hands-on and budget-conscious. Full service is best if you want someone to take it off your plate.
Do I have to sign a long-term contract?+
No. Our monthly service is month-to-month. You can cancel anytime. We recommend staying at least 3-6 months to see meaningful results, but we never lock you in.
What is the Built Different Credit Cohort?+
The cohort is a 3-month group program where you do the dispute work yourself, but with weekly live coaching sessions from Kashmiere, access to a private community of people doing the same work, the DIY kit included, and monthly dispute reviews. It's $297 for 3 months — cheaper than full service, more support than DIY alone.

What Can Be Removed?
Can bankruptcies be removed?+
Bankruptcies can sometimes be removed if they're reported inaccurately — wrong dates, wrong filing type, already discharged debt showing as active, etc. However, accurate bankruptcies are harder to remove and typically fall off after 7-10 years. We assess each situation individually.
Can collections be removed?+
Collections are one of the most common items we successfully dispute. If the collection company can't verify the debt (which happens often), it must be deleted. Even accurate collections can sometimes be removed through a pay-for-delete negotiation. We evaluate your specific collections during the audit.
Can late payments be removed?+
Late payments can be disputed if they're reported inaccurately — wrong dates, incorrect amounts, already paid and showing delinquent, etc. Accurate late payments are harder to remove but can sometimes be addressed through a goodwill letter to the original creditor.
How long do negative items stay on my report?+
Most negative items (late payments, collections, charge-offs) stay for 7 years from the date of first delinquency. Bankruptcies stay 7-10 years depending on the type. Hard inquiries stay 2 years (but stop affecting your score after about 1 year). We identify items close to falling off and prioritize accordingly.
